I M P is a consortium of American & Italian colleges/universities and conservatories of music created to 0provide wind ensemble and chamber music performance/pedagogy, masterclasses/seminars, conducting symposia, and concert tours of Europe and the USA. It is the  possibility of cultural exchanges that contribute to the formation of enhanced musical understanding for young people. The program also includes both American and Italian solo artists.  This program also includes the formation of an international wind ensemble comprised of both Italian and American performers.

Through such projects, the knowledge of wind band repertoire, as well as theory and analysis, will further enhance the knowledge and skills of all performers involved. Such projects will also allow various conductors to collaborate and share ideas regarding performance practices and repertoire.

Chamber music performance is also a component of this project, and it is our hope that the international wind ensemble will become a viable medium by which players of both Italy and the USA come together and share in the ideas and visions of this cultural exchange.  (foto: I W E in Wisconsin e California 2017 Dir Salemmi)
